Notes: Richardson's work was originally published as "Picturesque Designs for Mansions, Villlas etc", 1870. Under its new title (first publ. 1871), it acquired its splendid new binding, the coloured front end paper etc. (though the text was little changed). Richardson built many cottages, villas and mansions and this text was influential in the model settlement movement.
