Description: Litho tile-page, 32 tissue-guarded steel engravings. Lovely patterned end papers in gold, blue and white. Boards with large engraved paste-on labels back and front, leather spine, 19x24. Leather spine rubbed, foxing on covers and edges and edges of plates, not affecting images which are lovely and bright. Original ties on cover now missing.
Notes: A famous Hamburg view book, much sought after. The views are finely etched, giving much detailed information about the streets, buildings, parks, bridges etc. These scenes are filled with people. A somewhat poignant record given 20th century history.
