Description: First Series (3rd impression) 1pp, 120 plates; Second Series (1st impression) 8pp, 112 plates; Third Series (1st impression) 8pp, 112 plates (plates 103 and 104 missing); Fourth Series (1st impression) 8pp, 112 plates; (Fifth Series (1st impression) 8pp, 112 plates; Sixth Series (1st impression) 2pp, 109 plates; Seventh Series (1st impression) 1pp, 110 plates. 35x25, card folios with cloth spines, ribbon ties. Folios rubbed on corners and edges, some ribbons frayed, small tear to surface of introduction to Series 1, contents throught very good thus. All plates present except for numbers 103 and 104 of the Third Series.
Notes: An extensive collection of traditional architectural details recorded in very well printed photographic plates. Macartney, a pupil of Norman Shaw, was editor of the Architectural Review, and was Surveyor at St Paul's Cathedral from 1906 to 1931. His collection reflects his career and style.
