Description: Tissue-guarded coloured frontis, xxxii (incl 14 photos), 204pp including 291 photos, plans (+ 16pp publisher’s adverts). Gilt lettered embossed cloth, 29x23. Spine trifle faded and pulled top and bottom, new front end paper, faint mark of red staining from cover on prelims (not too bad), generally a nice looking copy and contents in good condition.
Notes: Dealing mainly with houses built before the 19th century, this work illustrates how they might be altered to meet the needs of the 20th, while preserving their earlier character and fabric. The frontispiece shows 5 half-timbered cottages made into a single house. Scarce, particularly as here in good condition.
