Description: Frontis of Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir, xvi, 318pp inc 259 figs plus 45 plates, many folding, plus 64pp publisher's adverts. Cloth, 27x19. Spine rebacked retaining original strip, ocassional foxing, very good thus.
Notes: An outstanding Victorian study which covers all aspects of the subject. As well as problems of local distribution in the cities, by this date now mainly solved, great new elaborate reservoirs were being built in Wales, the Lake District etc with masonry dams, aqueducts etc to supply the great industrial cities. A very well illustrated account of these developments.
