Description: iii, 149pp, mostly photos, plans, drawings. Lovely patterned cloth, 29x22. Corners very slightly bumped and top and bottom of spine little rubbed else vg. Owner's signature on front end paper.
Notes: Probably the best account of this building type at the turn of the twentieth century. The ‘Miethaus’ were great blocks of rented apartments of the better type. There are some splendid examples here, many of them on a huge scale and the work is beautifully illustrated with fine photographs and detailed plans. Gessner himself designed many of the blocks. Other architects include Poelzig, von Seidl, Kolbe and Helbig.
